Dear Church Family

Our recent Sunday sermons have certainly been inspiring and exciting!  We’ve heard about Jesus rising from the dead, appearing to the women at the tomb, the two travellers on the road to Emmaus and the disciples in Jerusalem. He then promises the baptism of the Holy Spirit and is taken up to heaven in a cloud in front of the disciples’ eyes.

Do you ever wish you had been present at these events, able to see Jesus in person and to experience those sweeping emotions of fear and apprehension, accompanied by love and joy?   The events must have been awe-inspiring - the disciples were empowered for their own ministries and, in many cases, eventually gave their lives for their Lord and Saviour.

By comparison, our lives can seem rather tame.  However, the Holy Spirit is still here to guide, encourage and comfort us – we just need to invite him into our lives.  Jesus’ promise in John 14:26 is still true for us:

‘…the Counsellor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.’

Have a blessed week, everyone!

  • Julie, a member of our church family, has been fundraising on behalf of Holy Trinity for some time now.  She has obtained numerous donations, of which the most recent is a £400 ‘GrassRoots’ grant from Asda for our children’s work.  I’m sure you’ll all join us in thanking Julie for all her wonderful work!

  • Christians Against Poverty (CAP) – if you would like to support our local CAP centre in prayer, there are some copies of their most recent prayer letter on the table in church.  You can also subscribe direct to the prayer letter by emailing the Centre Manager at wendymartin@capuk.org

  • The official notice of our Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) will be on display in church from this Sunday, 28 April.  Please put the time and date down in your diary – 7.30pm on Monday, 13 May 24 – as we’d love you to join us.

  • Love Laughter Lunch is at midday until 1.30pm every Wednesday during term-time.  A tasty home-cooked lunch and dessert cost about £5, and lighter alternatives such as sandwiches and toasties are also available.  Come along and join us – you’ll receive a warm welcome.

With our love and prayers,
